ERU Water & Sanitation: Module 40 (M40)
The M40 module is part of the complete water and sanitation Emergency Response Unit and is one of three modules (other modules are M15 and MSM20). This module provides equipment to treat and distribute up to 600,000 litres of safe drinking water per day for larger population concentrations up to 40,000 people and also provides limited sanitation and hygiene promotion for up to 5,000 people. The M40 module incorporates distribution and trucking capability and allows for a maximum of nine different storage and distribution points , each with a storage capability of 75,00 litres per day if sufficient flat bed trucks, fuel and road access is available. All equipment is securely packed for air freight according to IATA regulations.
