The Disaster Response Kit 2 was designed to provide an emergency response to the water and sanitation needs of scattered populations at household level where beneficiary numbers are low. The kit provides water treatment and basic sanitation at household level for up to 2,000 beneficiaries (400 families) where there is no central treatment or storage capacity. It gives families the ability to treat their own water.
The kit provides consumables to treat 500,000 litres of water, giving 1,250 litres per family, which should be sufficient for at least one month. Hygiene promotion materials included in the kit are intended for use alongside distribution activities and are designed to promote better hygiene practises in a simple but effective manner.
The kit is offered with two different water treatment options. Water can be treated using either household ceramic filters (10 litre capacity) or by means of Chlorine tablets and sedimentation sachets. Please select your preferred option.
